"#SayHerName is a social movement that seeks to raise awareness for Black Women victims of police brutality and anti-Black violence in the United States. Black women are 17% more likely to be stopped by police and 150% more likely to be killed than their white counterparts".

(AAPF)

These works are based on the cause of death of each victim; each portrait corresponds with the well-known ancient Japanese proverb "See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil." The piece contains three block-printed portraits of Black women that were murdered because of police brutality.

Each print uses colors and text that may invoke emotion and discomfort within the viewer, which pushes them to want to know more about the subject matter.
